I am looking for any type of spool i can for a Chrysler 8.25 axle. I am not going to settle for welding it just yet and want the reliablity and price of a spool over a locker. If anyone could help me out that would be awesome. Thanks.

chrysler does not offer a spool option for their 8.25 axel, unless it came out in the last year, just weld it, or buy a lock rite, there great for the money:-) [Reply]

They dont make a lock rite for the 29 spl. version, just the 27 spl. one. You can get a powertrax for the 29 spl. one. But welding is the cheapest. [Reply]

Same here. Have 34" ltb's. I actually welded it with a ready welder in the woods I don't know how long ago after it spit a chunk of spider gear through the diff cover. Have been waiting for it to blow up for a while now but it's still going. Rarely ever driven on pavement though. Street driving--especially with low pressures--will put a lot of stress on a spooled axle. [Reply]
if you want A spool just weld it the cases are strong enough. Just watch for splater that will kill gears & bearings quick. The axels are your week link [Reply]
